Chen Xiaofeng

Background

Chen Xiaofeng, male, Han ethnic, is a native in Wangdu, Hebei, who was born in October, 1955 and is the member of Communist Party of China. After retiring from the army in 1980, he worked in the Wuhan Intermediate People's Court, Hubei Province. In the same year, he went to the junior college at the Law Department of Zhongnan University of Finance and Economics; During the period between 1982 and 1985, he proceeded to receive his Master's Degree in Chinese Legal History at the Law Department of Wuhan University, meanwhile he acknowledged the famous scholar Mr. Yang Hongnian as his master; After graduation, he started his professional career at the university as a teaching assistant and lecturer from 1985 to 1992; During the period between 1992 and 1993, he served as the deputy director and associate professor at the Law Department of Wuhan University School of Law; During the period between 1993 and 1994, he went to Japan as a visiting research fellow at Doshisha University; After returning back to China, he served as the assistant to the dean of Wuhan University School of Law. In the same year, he proceeded to receive his PhD in Constitutional Jurisprudence at Wuhan University School of Law. Under the guidance of the professors He Huahui and Li Long, he received the PhD in 1998; In 1997, he was appointed as a professor at Wuhan University, and in 2001 he was appointed as a doctoral adviser in constitutional and administrative jurisprudence at Wuhan University.

2. His paper “Twisted” from “Original Intention”: Analysis of the Cultural Causes of Chinese Legal Changes won the second China Legal Culture Research Achievement Award in 2012;

3. In 2016, his monograph The Study of Chinese Constitutional Culture won the second prize of the 10th Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award (Books) in Hubei Province.

4. The English version of The Study of Chinese Constitutional Culture was officially published in March 2018 by the United States W.S Hein-Wells Press and Wells Information Services Inc.
